The Gaming Giant Hires Popular Battle Royale Producer to Rescue Challenged Action Game Project Ethos

The renowned publisher has appointed Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to lead the development team at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

Leadership Change Follows Mixed Response

Brinkman assumes the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' disappointing early showing last autumn.

Recently, the company's top executive David Ismailer informed staff about this decision through an official communication, which stressed that early feedback sessions had revealed the necessity for a clearer direction.

Ismailer expressed that the developers is now reimagining the project with a refreshed approach, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.

Trend of Key Acquisitions

The news follows a similar step taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to work on the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Here is the full text from the president's memo:

Project Ethos does not have an official release date or platforms, but enthusiasts can anticipate further news as development advances.
